I am connected to the office wifi and I keep getting a notification that some other device somewhere is playing YouTube. I can start and stop it, but I don't even know who's device it is. It falls under "local devices" on my home app. How can I remove it from my notifications bar and Home app? I don't want a random person's device connected to my personal phone at work.
It's very annoying. Thanks.

Hi PurrEugene,
This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Can you control the other device?
It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:
By the way, to see other devices on your Google Home app is to know that it’s also on the same Wi-FI as all your devices. Have you asked anyone that also has a Google Home app and a Nest device that they control? Have you added someone in your office as a home member?
I look forward to your response.
Best,
Dan

Hi Dan, thanks for your ideas. maybe I posted in the wrong forum. I don't have any Nest speakers. I can't reboot the router, I am in a office building with 100s of cubicles, I don't know where the router is and I wouldn't reset it if I did because I have no interest in crashing zoom meetings. I can control the device, I think. I have never added anyone as a home member and I didn't know it existed until I was trying to remove this other device from my notification bar.

Hi PurrEugene,
Thank you for the information. It seems like the owner of the Nest device unknowingly activated the cast media feature. You need to find out who the owner is because they’re the only ones that can set things straight. Let them follow the steps below.
To prevent others on the customer's Wi-Fi network from controlling their media casting, they can turn off Cast media control notifications on the Chromecast, Google Nest, or Google Home devices.
Turn off Cast media control notifications for a Chromecast or Google Home device:
Turn off Cast media control notifications on the phone:
You can permanently turn off Cast media control notifications from displaying on their phone. Here's how:
Option 1:
Option 2:
To turn notifications back on, enable Media controls for Cast devices.
Hope this helps.

Dan
