Monitoring time countdown for delay

Have setup a 2 hour "on" for a powerpoint, in the Google Home>Automations tab. Actions are:

1/ Turn on device
2/ Delay for 2 hours
3/ Turn off device

Is there any way, after activation, that I can view either: how long it has been on AND/OR how long before it turns off.

I can't see any way to check this.

Thanks.

(and on another note:
Is there any way to setup an automation, that when run, will prompt me for the time to delay...?)

1. You could set a timer for 2 hours.

"Set a Device on timer for 2 hours"

Set a delay for 1 hour 59 minutes.

"Cancel Device on timer"

  • "Hey Google, Time left" to find out how much time was remaining.

2. You would have to turn on the device for your maximum time as a device timer (Turn on device for...) and then reduce it to the time you want (Turn on device for...) after an announcement saying how long it was set for.

  • It would be easier with Alexa as you can add and remove time from device timers. This is very handy when charging my phone.
