I have a 3rd Generation Nest Learning Thermostat with a Trane 2 stage traditional AC system/condenser and 2 stage natural gas furnace. I have the following wires wired to the furnace control board:
Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, C, Rh
I have tested all settings and Stage 1 cooling, Stage 1 heating, and Stage 2 heating all work as expected. Unfortunately, Stage 2 Cooling still shows on the board (and confirmed at the compressor) as only Stage 1 Cooling.
Basically, cooling is limited to stage 1 even when the thermostat displays stage 2 being active.
My HVAC installer is convinced it is an issue with the thermostat, as he wired together Y1, Y2, R, and G and it engaged Stage 2 Cooling at the board as expected. I have factory reset the thermostat and the stage 2 cooling testing still shows stage 1 on the board.
Is this a potential issue with the thermostat, wiring, or maybe something else?
