Nest Audio Automation

I have one nest hub and four speakers. I want them to play music starting at 6 am to 10pm but I'm not home at either of those times. It needs to active regardless if I'm home or not. How can I set this up?

In Automations there is an Action called "Play and control media"

I've never had music play for that length of time, but I would probably use the radio instead of a music playlist as it might stop after all the songs have been played.

Alternative from Personal Automations you could use a Daylong Automation and reset the music to be played at different times throughout the day.

A Daylong message pops up at the bottom of the screen after "Personal Automations" has been selected.

To have music played on multiple speakers simultaneously (I've never done this either) I would think you'd need to use a Custom command (Try adding your own) with a mention of the speaker group name included.

Thanks for all that information. I'll look into that. The problem I seem to have is the system turning off when I leave. It won't keep playing, nor will commands work without my presence.

That's why I suggested a Daylong Automation as you can repeat the commands at regular intervals.

Bonjour, si tu utilises les scripts YAML de Google home preview, il faut que tu ajoutes : "conditions:
# Condition 1: Le mode de la maison est "Absent"
- type: home.state.HomePresence
state: homePresenceMode
is: HOME"

Unfortunately I don't know Google home preview YAML scripts. Maybe that would help.

This is how I would do it...

1: Create a speaker group in the Google Home app that includes your desired speakers/devices.

2: Create a Spotify playlist and set the options to shuffle, repeat and auto-play.

3: In the Google Home app create an automation using a scheduled time (6:00am) as the starter and use the following custom command as the action... "Play my [Name of Spotify playlist] playlist on [Name of speaker group] for 16 hours".

Hope this helps 👍
