I recently moved to a new address and I renamed my router. When I tried to connect my nest mini it said I needed to factory reset because it sees it as a new user. So I tried to do the hold the device in the middle for 5 seconds things and it did nothing. Then i did the uplug and replug - nothing. then the unplug and replug 10 times - nothing. Not sure how to proceed.

Good question, let me help you. Check the step below on how to do the factory data reset so you can put your Google Nest Mini back to its default setting and set it up as a new device.
Here’s how to do the reset, on the side of your Google Nest Mini, switch the mic off. The LEDs will turn orange. Press and hold the center of your Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your Google Nest Mini will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more until you hear a sound confirming your Google Nest Mini is resetting.
