So, Google decided to force Nest owners to migrate from the old system to Google Home. When doing so, they forgot to address that some of their thermostats do not have the required QQR code or the six-digit number on the back of the Nest thermostat. They only allow for these two options while setting up the connectivcity to Google Home though. Has anybody else figured out a solution to this predicament they have created?
I just want to be able to scream out "Alexa, turn my thermostat to 68 degrees!" and now Google has taken that away. HELP!!!

Hello Tim,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
It appears you have the Nest Learning Thermostat 2nd generation, where there is no QR code or Entry key located on the back of its display. Is there a chance that you had it already linked to Amazon Alexa before fully migrating your Google account? If so, you no longer have to add your thermostat as a new device in the Google Home app as long as you are signed in with the same email account, as it should automatically appear on its home screen.
Please verify and ensure that you have the same email address in both apps, and let me know how it goes.
Best,
Mark
