Trying to set my Nest Thermostat to start a fan (plugged in to a kasa smart plug) when it goes into cooling mode and turn the fan off when the cooling mode returns to the off status. Occasionally it will start the fan when it goes into cooling mode but its sporadic and inconsistent. But it never turns the fan off when thermostat returns to idle state. I can trigger the fan on/off from other device actions, but not from the thermostat. What am i missing?

Try the solution here (worked for me): https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Home-Automation/thermostat-script-not-working/m-p/465540#M208...

I appreciate the response but unfortunately still only turns on sometimes and never turns off.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. I know it's been a while already. I'd like to take a closer look at it. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what states are you located? Could you please provide your Nest Thermostat's power readout? Also, checking your thermostat's Energy History might help you to see what your thermostat is doing previously.
You can follow the guide below to check your thermostat's power readings:

I appreciate the input, @Kaeris.

Has anyone figured this out?
using IFTTT app I did see that this app is published with a smart outlet from wemo but I don’t have one of those so that tells me if there’s gotta be a workaround though
someone smarter than me figure out how to turn on a Kasa plug or any other
PLEASE & THANKS
