Nest Thermostat - trying to change networks is not working

I have a Google Nest thermostat.  It's completely installed and has been working fine.  I also have a google Mini-Home Smart Speaker.  This device has also been working fine.

I recently changed internet providers.  All my amazon devices moved over to the new Wi-Fi connection without any issues.

The Google Mini-Home moved over to the Wi-Fi connection after many attempts.  I discovered that it first has to be removed from the app and then a factory reset was finally needed to get it to finally recognize the new network.

I mention all this because this is the routine involved in moving the Google Nest over to a new W-Fi Network.

So, I first removed it from the Home app.  Then, on the thermostat itself, using the on-screen prompts, I disconnected it from my old Wi-Fi account.

Many, many attempts have been made to get this thermostat to find the new Wi-Fi.  I've scanned that QR code on the back so many times, I'm afraid I'm going to bend one of the connecting prongs from removing and plugging it back in.

It always ends the same way...the Google Home app cannot find the device.  It then presents me with a list of devices from which to choose my device.  It then connectstothe device itslef but then stops short of connecting to my home W-Fi network.  The following message always comes up:

"Couldn't find an assiting Nest Device."

Well, the Google Mini-Home is connected to the network, my Android phone is connected to the network, and my Android tablet is connted to the network.  So I do not understand what assiting device it's asking me for.

Google, please help!

Hello georgetoon,

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue reconnecting your Nest Thermostat back to your Wi-Fi network. Let's sort this out.

To clarify, could you please tell us the Nest Thermostat model you have? Also, do you have any other Nest devices?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark
