Nest doorbell alerts

Hi all,

I am trying to get my doorbell to display on my nest hub when the button is pressed. I have followed all instructions:

*Both the doorbell camera and hub display show in the Google home app

*I have enabled visitor announcements in the nest app

*I can view the live feed if I select the camera in Google home

So when the bell is pressed, I get the alert notification on my phone but nothing on the hub display. I did see some instructions to allow notifications for the camera within the home app, but holding the device tile and waiting to see "more settings" doesn't happen - it just opens the camera feed. I also looked around and couldn't see anything related to notifications.

Worth mentioning my nest account and Home account use different gmail addresses - if this is the issue how would i go about moving\merging?

Thanks,
David

If, when you say "my Nest account and Home account use different gmail addresses", you mean that you log into the Google Nest app and the Google Home app with different gmail accounts, and if your doorbell is a Google Nest Hello Doorbell that is installed in the Google Nest app, then your doorbell and your Nest Hub are in different Google Nest "homes/structures", and "visitor announcements" is not going to work set up that way.

And you can't migrate to a Google Account that is already being used for Google Nest devices.

See the "Google Account is already linked to a Nest Account" topic in the Google Nest Help topic below for instructions on what to do:
