Nest doorbell and Alexa announcement of visitors

I have followed the instructions found online to make Alexa announce visitors when the Nest camera is pressed but Alexa is not announcing anything when the Nest doorbell is pressed.

I have the same issue and would love to find a solution as it's an expensive doorbell that doesn't bell in the house. I feel a bit like I may have bought the wrong product

Unfortunately the only solution I have found is to spend more money!  Buy a Nest mini and it works as a chime in any room of your house by announcing visitors.  Google documentation is horrible and it wasn't until weeks of personal research I was able to finally figure this out.  Won't be buying another Google product - learned my lesson.
