Nest hub gen 2 sling tv

Just got a new nest hub. After setup it has a display button for a sling tv, which I’ve linked to my sling account. It doesn’t work. If you click the icon, Google assist says “open sling tv” doesn’t work. Basically nothing you do makes sling tv work. 

This is disappointing, you’d expect the apps to work when you buy something like this.

Hi Sammyb89,

 

I know how exciting it must have been when you're about to use your new Nest Hub but found out the Sling TV doesn't work. No worries, I'd love to help you out. It would help a lot if you could first do a sequential reboot by unplugging the power cord of your router followed by your Nest Hub. Restarting your phone might also help. While waiting for the reboot, let's double-check your Sling account if it's added to Google. Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the plus icon  and then Video.
  3. Choose a video streaming service, then tap Link and then Link Account.

I’ve reset it. Still doesn’t work well.  If I instruct it to play a specific sling tv channel, the hub will play it. The hub UI button for Sling TV does nothing and throws and error message of sorts. I’d upload a picture or video but this forum doesn’t seem to support it. Anyways, go ahead and lock the thread. Nothing more to add here. Disappointing product nonetheless, will be returning.

Thanks for the response and I apologize for the inconvenience. Don't give up on this. Would you mind telling me how you did the factory reset? Apologies for the question, I just wanted to make sure we know what the next steps would be. Also, have you already tried linking Sling TV to your Google Home? Could you tell me how it was?
