Nest hub reconnection issue

Nortmush
Community Member

I have previously managed to connect my nest hub to my google home app, everything was working beautifully. It was amazing.

I was on holiday for two weeks, so I disconnected the nest hub from the electricity. When I got back my nest hub couldn't connect to my phone or the google home app.

I did a factory reset for my nest hub and now when I try connecting to it when I get to the page to choose which network to connect it to, my network won't show up on the list.

I tried adding my network manually, but that still doesn't work.

Someone, please help!

Hi Nortmush,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us.

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out. A few things: What is the make and model of the mobile phone that you are using? Is it connected to the same WiFi? Try moving near the WiFi router during the setup, ideal is within 15 feet.  You can also try to uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app and see if it will make a difference.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Juni

I am using a oneplus 10. My phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi I want to connect to the nest hub mini. I tried setting it up right next to my router. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my google home app. Still, nothing works.

Hi folks,

@Juni, thanks for the help.

@Nortmush, that certainly hasn't been easy for you ― since doing the reset and having it near your router didn't work, let's try using a different phone for the set up. On you phone's WiFi settings>Forget network then reconnect. Also, don't forget to turn off your phone's mobile data, leaving only the WiFi on. Now, if using another phone to setup your Google Nest Hub won't do, try to connect your device to another phone's hotspot. You do need to have 2 mobile devices for this to work. Connect the setup phone to the mobile hotspot of another phone then proceed with the set up.

Tell me how it goes.

Thanks,

Dan
