That error means the previous owner didn't remove the cameras from their account. If you know who that is, you may consider contacting them to do that. Otherwise, after the previous owner's video history has expired, which can take up to 60 days, you'll be able to pair the camera to your account. If you're unsure when the video history will expire, there is no way to check and you will just need to periodically retry, unfortunately.

Hi Tony2000,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Don't worry we'll go ahead and help you out. When linking a Nest Camera to a new or different email address you need to unlink it from the old one. That's part of the security in case your Nest Cameras get stolen. To confirm, do you still remember your old email address? Have you migrated that old account? Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate your response, David_K.

Emerson

Hello notafanofnest,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. For transferring a 1st Generation Nest Camera you need to disconnect it from the power outlet for 48 hours and after that you need to connect it to a WiFi network. Try changing your WiFi network name and password or turn off you WiFi router and used a mobile hotspot instead then once you connect the camera on the mobile hotspot you can update the WiFi information on the Nest app:

Here are the steps to update the WiFi using the Nest app:

  1. On the Nest app home screen, tap Settings .
  2. Select Home info Home Wi-Fi help.
Note: If Home Wi-Fi help doesn’t appear, remove the camera from the Nest app and add it back. This removes the video history of the camera that is not under 2nd Gen Nest Aware subscription, so ask the customer to save any important video clips before removing the camera.
  3. Select the offline camera.
  4. Tap Start.

Tap Update settings and follow the on-screen prompt.

Let me know if that helps,

Regards,
Edmond
