New home, new internet, cameras and doorbell not connecting to the internet

I found the posts where others have had a similar problem and I'm trying to figure out if I'm just SOL and 800 bucks worth of cameras down the drain because they won't connect to my new wifi - I've tried everything (removed them from my Google nest account, moved them close to the router, reset the route, restarted my phone) and every time I get to the screen where it looks for the phone, it does not connect or find it, it just says that you need to move the phone closer. The phone is near the device so I'm not sure what else can be done. Unbelievable that it's this hard to set up the devices again just because I moved - I wish I would have read the reviews because I never would have purchased them and at this point definitely do not recommend them ugh. If anyone has anything else I can try before I bin this trash, please let me know.

Google Nest does not make it easy to change Wi-Fi settings. Did you follow the instructions in this Help topic?

If not, then you have to perform a factory reset (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162) on each device. The challenge is that, with some 1st gen cameras, you can only perform a factory reset by removing the camera from the Google Nest app while you are still on your old Wi-Fi network,

Meaning that if I didn't do that, the cameras are dead? I just bought them around a year ago!

If you bought them about a year ago, you most likely have 2nd gen cameras, (which are installed in the Google Home app), and NOT 1st gen cameras (which are installed in the Google Nest app).  Google started selling 2nd gen cameras in Sept. 2021.

If by some chance you DO have 1st gen cameras, you might need to wait until your Nest Aware subscription expires on those cameras (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9249728).

If you have 2nd gen cameras, you'll need to do a factory reset on each (shown in the instructions in my earlier link.  Be sure to use the "Factory reset" instructions and not the "Restart" instructions.

The fact that changing Wi-Fi is difficult is a chronic complaint here in this forum.
