New owner

Just bought a house and owner had a nest thermostat he left it. But I can't take it over I was look on the net for away to do it because the old owner still has his account on it. Is there away around this?

Hey Notsofatboy, 

 

Thanks for reaching out. 

 

If you have either the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, you first need to remove the current Wi-Fi and account information on it. Here's a guide:

 

  1. Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Turn the ring and select Reset.
  4. Select Account Connection.
  5. Select Reset to confirm.
  6. After the reset is complete, remove your thermostat from the app. To reconnect your thermostat, set it up in the app again.
