None of my devices show up under "Works with Google"

I've used the Google Home app in the past to link devices that "work with Google", such as Belkin WeMo switch, Lutron Caseta switches, and Globe smart plugs. Those devices, since they were already added, show up fine in the Home app in the rooms they've already been assigned to.

I recently installed a TP-Link Kasa smart switch, added it fine to the Kasa app and to my Kasa account, and can control it from the Kasa app. However, when I try to add the device using the "Works with Google" workflow, after entering my Kasa credentials to authorize my account I get an error that there are no devices in my Kasa account. If I hit back and go back into the "Works with Google" workflow, I see my Kasa account is linked and it says "1 device", however when I select Kasa I only get a pop-up prompt that has 2 options: "Reconnect" or "Unlink account" and I don't actually get to the next step where I can see my smart switch. I have tried to do this over and over, on multiple Android devices, and have reinstalled the Home and Kasa apps. I really think this is a Google issue because even when I select my other already linked services, e.g. Lutron, I don't see my devices but instead only get the "Reconnect" or "Unlink account" options. 

Any ideas?

I found the issue: the devices don't show up in the service linkage page, but instead you have to go back to the Home view and the devices show up all the way at the bottom as linked devices but not assigned to any room. Not a very good UX experience!
