Not able to connect Home to a Infrared device

Koloman

I have a lamp in my house which can only be controlled by an IR-remote control (intensity, cold/warm light, on/off). To include this lamp nevertheless  in my Goggle home I bought a "Panamalar IR Controller" which is part of my WLAN. The App  (I use Android12 on Pixel5) I have to use is "Smart Life" (or Tuya). The App learned the IR commands and is working via the WLAN/IR bridge Panamalar with  my Lamp as expected.

But I wanted to include the Device now in my Google Home.

The Device itself does not show up as part of "Smart life" (where I have also 2 plugin which show up and work)  in Google home if I connect the App with Google Home. Trying to fix that I used the "scenes" service of the "Smart life" App. The scenes (I defined every button of the remote control  as a scene) show up in the count of devices of "Smart life"  in the  "linked services" in Google Home but do not show up in the list of connected devices in the rooms but also not at the end of the list as not assigned devices (as normal).

Knows anybody what I can do to include this infrared device in my Google home?

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Hey,

I found a partial solution somewhere in the net: I had to define my lamp as a "fan" and for this fan I could specify a command fan on/off. This works only partially, because the command "lamp on"  or "lamp off" (lamp stands for the name I gave the device in Google Home) toggles only the status of the lamp. But that's better than nothing.

If I would investigate in other devices which can learn commands and fit better to a lamp control maybe I would find something. But I can live with this solution. Maybe You know something better. It is a pitty that my Nagano Lamp from Trio  is not part of the device list of smart life.

regards

Wolfgang
