Notifications through text

Is there a way to get notifications through text instead of email when a camera picks something up?

For 1st gen cameras and doorbells, we can get notifications through the Google Nest app and via email.

For 2nd gen cameras and doorbells, we can get notifications through the Google Home app.

There are no text options.

I've seen a few posts from customers about getting text notifications by using automation or routines, but I don't know if they've been successful.
