Everytime I try to link my Phillips Hue account with my Google Home, its says "Hue Account Linked" then a moment later it says "Something Went Wrong, Try Again"

This has happened everytime and I cannot make anything work! I do not have a bridge, only the lights. I have tried going through the Hue app, everything. I do not know what to do!

Hi lucasblank,

Thank you for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear that when you're trying to link your Philips Hue account through the Google Home app, it says "Hue Account Linked," but then it says "Something Went Wrong, Try Again." I'd be happy to help!

Given that you don't have a bridge, I'd like to confirm if you're attempting to set up the lights using 'Works with Google Assistant.' If so, bulbs may require both the Google Home app and the bulb manufacturer's app. You might also need a bridge or hub from the bulb manufacturer. To better investigate the inconvenience, I'd like to ask the following:

  • Is this the first time that you're trying to set up the Phillips Hue account in the Google Home app?
  • Are the Hue lights working as they should through the Hue app?
  • Do you have a Nest speaker or display device? If so, what is the model of it?
  • Are you a home member or the owner from the Google Home app account?

For now, I'd suggest the following steps:

  • Make sure the mobile software version, the Google Home app, and the Hue app are up-to-date.
  • Check for any interference. If you have a nearby Wi-Fi router, cordless phone, microwave, or Bluetooth speaker, move it further away if you can.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
