Poor google nest performance

What has happened to the speakers. There absolutely rubbish now, I invested in the speakers heavily, I have one of the big speakers, and 5 small speakers but I have to say that over time they have become less responsive, we used to use the Google broadcast function quite a lot but now it just doesn't hear us. I'm thinking of getting rid now cos quite frankly they are rubbish. Maybe time to move over to amazon echo, but I'm pissed that I've spent a fair bit of money on a system that is poor now!
