So I have two Nest smart hubs 2nd gen, one JBL Link portable and a TCL soundbar with built in chromecast (TS9030). When I create speaker group with all speakers there will be no sound from the soundbar. It only works if I start with JUST the soundbar and then add one speaker at a time and only if I do it from my main Nest smart hub. And that doesn’t even always work. It doesn’t work if I select all speakers from my Google home app on my phone (iPhone 13). Only once did I manage to cast and choose the group “All speakers” and it worked from my phone app. I only just bought all these things and it’s super annoying it doesn’t work properly.

Hey Theredaktorn,
We're sorry for the trouble this may caused you.
Speaker groups containing non-Google speakers or Cast-based devices may not work properly in speaker groups if they don’t receive a software update. You may notice that those devices don’t play audio in a speaker group. Third-party Cast devices like soundbars with Chromecast built-in will need to be updated to Cast firmware 1.52.272222 and above.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Paula,
Thanks for the additional details you've shared. Just to verify, are all speakers set up in the same Home structure?

Yes they are. If I start playing from soundbar I can sometimes add Google nest hub 2 and all will play, but if I from start choose the speaker group it won’t work.

Hi Theredaktorn,
Could you confirm the distance of each of the speakers from each other as well as their distance from the router?

Hi Theredaktorn,
Thanks for the info. Can you try to move the speakers a little closer to the router so we can check if there are any changes after doing so?

Hi Theredaktorn,
Thanks for responding.
For us to further isolate the issue, let's set up a speaker group without the soundbar. If the music can play on the speaker group, we can check your soundbar's compatibility to see if this works with Google Nest speakers.
Keep us posted.

Princess
