Remove "offline" ghost chromecasts from home

Hi Everyone, I have been messing with this for quite a while and can't seem to find an answer.  I am attempting to remove these three chromecast devices (see image) from my google home app, but when I go on the devices page and select "unlink device" I get an error (see second image) about wifi connectivity.  I don't have these devices anymore so help would be appreciated.IMG_2486.PNGIMG_2485.jpg

Try these steps:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the arrow next to Devices, groups and rooms.
  • Tap the room the device was assigned to.
  • Tap the device.
  • Tap Remove device.

There is no Devices, Groups and Rooms option after I tap Settings. When I find a device through the Devices button, and tap the device, there is no Remove Device option. I have just updated Home, so is up to date.

That would be helpful if it were in any of the rooms.  The ghost devices in question aren't assigned to any room.

So you don't see this?

Okay, let's check another thing.

If you tap Settings, then Works with Google. Do you see a section at the top with brands underneath "Linked"?

Yes but none of them are associated with the devices listed as ghost.  I have a feeling this is an internal glitch with the Home service

Any resolution to this? I’ve tried unlinking every service and signing out of old devices and I still cannot get rid of this stupid old Chromecast device.
