Routines start but do not complete

I have been using routines on my Hub Max for several years but starting in early 2022 routines will not complete.

Goodnight Routine:

Triggered by "hey Google goodnight"

- asks to set alarm, turns off light connected to wemo, plays white noise from Spotify.

This routine gets stuck after confirming the alarm time.  I checked "My Activity" from last night and it shows the full routine completed (it did not but then shows that I had to ask to turn off the light and play the white noise separately.

Good morning routine.

Triggered by "hey Google stop" to turn off the alarm.

-turn off alarm, provide time, weather, reminders start Spotify playlist.

This routine stops after turning off the alarm and says "sorry there was an issue" or something very similar

Things I've tried:

Power cycle hub max, remove from home app.  Remove and turn off routines, hard reset hub max.

The goodnight Routine worked only once after the hard reset, but never again.  Nothing else has worked.

Other info: I have 2 other Google devices a mini and the smaller hub within 40 feet in other rooms.  The mic is off on the other hub farthest away.  The mini is always behind 2 sometimes 3 closed doors and does not respond unless I'm in the room it is in.  I also have hey Google turned off on my phone.

Please help!  This has been the only alarm I have not been able to sleep through in the past 4 years.
