Shared media controls

So i was playing music in my basement via Chromecast and then other people started controlling my music. I went to Google home, turned off sharing for the device that's playing music and somehow my music keeps getting paused. Why is this happening?

Hello ZT,

Thanks for reaching out. While you can turn off the cast media notifications, everyone can still control the media playing if they have the Google Home app and the same app you're using in casting. This step may be out of your way but, you may try to set up your Chromecast on a different Wi-Fi network so others can't control it.
