What is the command to set a timer for a smart plug so that it will turn off after a specific length of time? Thanks.

Hi SEK1524.

See if I can explain it to you. Click on routines in google home app, click on the + sign to create a new routine. Add an sentense in activation, an write a phrase you want to trigger the google assistent, save it. Then add an action below, and choose your plug from within units in your home and change the plug to “on” and save that action. Add another action, and choose time adjustment at the buttom of the list, and delay the start with what ever minuts or hours you wan’t the plug to stay on and save it. Next, choose another action and this time find you plug again, and this time choose “off” and save it. Save your new routine and it will show up with the other routines on the list.

Now activate your assistent with your phrase, and then the plug should turn on. After the delay, the plug should turn off again.

Hope I could explain it to you, otherwise I hope you got some understanding of routines. Don’t forget to play around with those routines. You just have to save a phrase for the action of the units inside google home you wan’t to activate.

Good luck. Jonas

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Thanks for checking in.

My smartplug now turns on and off on a time when commanded, but the commands to send a text and announcement when it turns off do not happen. The announcement and the text do occur when the smartplug is turned on, but not have the timer expires and the plug turns off.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the frustrations that you're still having with this.

I would suggest visiting our Google Assistant Forum and writing to them there as this is a question that they would be able to help answer.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
