Tapo light bulb gives verbal notification via Google speaker when I run voice routine

i have just purchased a TP-Link "Tapo" bulb, set up, then added it to our Google Home. The bulbs works as expected, but I get a really annoying voice response from my nearest Google speaker when I say "darkness" to turn off all the lights in our house.

The speaker will inform me "the spare room light is already off". I Do Not get told the status of other lights or plugs (we have a mixture of Hive and Kasa tplink devices), but this Tapo tplink bulb is our first Tapo device. I really don't need to be told that multiple devices are already off, so this really puts me off Tapo. :'(

I can't find anything similar online to help fix this, so here I am begging you folks for help.

Stay weird folks, Julie

Hi WeirdJulie,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community and sorry for the late response.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. Are you still experiencing the issue? If so, Could you try to do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speaker and light for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Juni
