Wait a minute, you mean I can't even record manually and all I get are thumbnails of recordings?

So I can't even manually record or have save files unless I pay for service. I can't manually take photos or record what I see live or have it record constantly unless I pay for service? Correct ?

So all I get is thumbnails of a recording event that I can access only if I pay for services and a 3 sec video clip.

That's it.?

I cant hook up to my DVR?

  • Or just use it as a IPcam ?

exactly and the event thumbnail only lasts a couple of hours so if something happens in the middle of the night the cam is worthless.  i wish i would have returned mine.

Hi ozzie650,

I’m sorry for the delay. That’s a good question. If you have 2nd gen Nest cameras and doorbells you can get up to 3 hours of event video history without a subscription. Nest Aware comes with up to 60 days of event video history (depending on your subscription) that saves clips to the cloud when your camera detects motion or sound. Your video history will show only clips of these motion or sound events. During times with no detected events, it will show blank areas.

Have a look at this article and let me know if you have more questions in mind: What you get with a Nest Aware subscription.

Thanks,

JT
