When will sensor triggered routines be added?

What is the holdup on having this feature added to Google Home? It's frustrating that it's taking this long to implement something that every other smart home device manufacturer already supports. I'd really appreciate a direct response as I'm heavily invested in the Google Home ecosystem. Please don't give a canned (non) response. Thank you.

There is one IR sensor from Aqara (P1) that I can already see in the GH app and it has a "Voice notification" option. No other automations available, though.
