I have been a Google Home user since the start and chose Google because of the openness of the system. I chose Nest Secure because I wanted a system that interfaced seamlessly with google home and did not have a monthly subscription.
The ADT option appears not to meet any of my needs and now you are just shutting down the system without a replacement. You could have at least helped me replace what I have with an equivalent functions system. By this I mean a system that:
I trusted that Google was a good choice for my home automation and you misled me. I now wonder what other of my investments in Google products you will destroy.
You have now opened the door for me to replace everything, perhaps the Alexa route was a better choice
Just now I am not happy to be using every Google product on the planet; Chrome, Pixel, Wifi etc.... Perhaps I should also rethink getting Google fiber.....Grrrr!

I totally agree, donkjr. We should have an option for a new Google system or a good, subscription -free option. I have also built my Google home system, paying as I go for what I need. It seems that clients don't matter, just dollars in their pockets.
So long, Google.

Hi folks,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry for the delayed response.
At this time, only ADT has the level of integration we can recommend. You can read more about this here.
We're here if you have any other questions.
Best,
Zoe

Since Google's decision to trash my security system (Nest Secure), I have started to look for a suitable replacement. I am interested in what others are doing and will also share my progress.
Below are my requirements which reflect how I use the Nest system:

Probably your only solution for a no subscription system is to go the DIY route. Using something like Home Assistant can provide all the capabilities needed at the "cost" of an investment in time learning/watching YouTube videos. Unfortunately relying on companies to continue to support your hardware without ongoing costs is not a good long term business strategy.

It seems to me that "Google" is still missing or ignoring the main complaint. I DO NOT WANT A PAID SERVICE. That is why I chose Nest Security to start with. Is Google incapable of partnering with a vendor that can provide one or more parts of a subscription-based security system that "works with Google', or do you just not care? I would be more happy if Google just outlined how to replace my Nest security system with non-Google components they would support in Google home.

Hi there,
We're always looking for ways to improve and bring more vendors into integration with Google. We appreciate your request for this, and please be assured that our product team is working non-stop with different partners to bring the best to our Google Nest devices. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback. Also, we don't have anything else to share right now in terms of a replacement for Nest Secure, but stay tuned for more news and updates.
I'll go ahead and lock this thread within 24 hours. If you run into any more questions in the future, please feel free to create a new thread.
All the best,
Zoe

UPDATE: I completed replacing my Google security system with YoLink products. The system lacks some of the integration features with Google Home but it provides the same level of perimeter security. This is not a paid service, has a much longer sensing range [I even have a sensor on my mailbox], costs less than the nest, and will still operate when my wifi is down. I will no longer buy any Nest products because I can't deal with Google's obsolescence policies. Any idea what I should do with all my Nest JUNK?
