I had the same issue. I've reached out to support and they sent it to their emgineers. It wasa firmware issue with their newest update. They fixed it now.

Hi  @Chelardo

You likely need to re connect the third party service that the bulbs use. See this help page:Connect third-party smart home devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

Additionally: can you change the color in the bulb's own app if installed?

What brand bulbs?

Thanks!

Check in the Google Home app for the service the bulb uses. If it is connected then try to disconnected/reconnect. If you don't see the service then search and allow it.

Annoying I bet!

Try reconnecting them in the app. What brand are the bulbs?

it seems a Google Home issue, many people are posting exact same issue since yesterday.

i dont know, the brand,, i had to set them up with tuya smart app and afher i linked, them to google home. It is,weird , because i could change colors so easily with just my voice (using google mini or my phone) , now i have to  manially do it  If i use google mini to try to change color itcsays the lamps are disconnected (not true) if i try my phone it says, the lamp dont have the capability (not true)

turn them on,,off or changing brightness level work fine with my voice , the only issue is changing color

this, seems to be a google home problem

if you asked last week I'd say I could change color with my voice with no problem

and it is happening with all my eight different light bulbs

I try deleting 1 lamp and set it up again with tuya, smart , then link jt with Google home,,still same problem

I can only change color manually using tuya smart or Google home

the odd thing is that this issue started a couple of days, ago . For some strange reason now the assistant says that the lamp doesn't have the capability , we'll a couple of days,b2gkrw I could change color with googje mini or my phone using my voice,  and it worked flawlessly

now it says, the lamp is,disconnected,  if instead of trying to change color I say, turn off,,or change brightness,, no problem , itvwont say the lamp is disconnected

so basically for some reason it seems, google has an issue with trying to change, color with voice command, please fix it

I am having this issue as well. My GE Cync lights are showing up in the Google Home app but if I try to turn them on/change color with my Nest Mini it responds they are offline. I can use still voice control with Gemini on my phone but this issue with the Nest Mini only started last night for me.

I am also experiencing this issue, and it appears to be a Google Home problem. I have Cync GE light bulbs, and they are no longer changing color in response to my commands, which were working before. I unregistered and registered them through the main Cync app, and then added the link again to Google Home, and still no luck. Hopefully, they fix this soon

It is so frustrating.  Lets hope they acknowledge the issue and fix it ASAP

I have bulbs that use both Smart Life and C by GE. I cannot use voice commands to change the colors on any of them. I have reset my Home Mini and my Nest Hub, I have relinked both third party apps which work as expected on their own but not within Google Home. Only thing I have not done is restart my router but it's not a network issue as all network connected devices are functioning. This needs to get fixed!

same here. If you do a google search this is a new thing people are posting about specifically. Google home broke the ability to change light colors. It works fine in the app, no connection issues. This is not a "basic troubleshooting" type issue, and no amount of "reconnect your devices", "reconnect your service", "change x", "change y", etc, will fix it. It worked for multiple years, nothing has changed in the services, and everything is still connected in the app. I can even override the command with a manual routine starter, and it works then, so there is absolutely no excuse and the onus is on GOOGLE for this issue.

Indeed,  the only conmand affected is changing colors, , when I try to do it ,,the response I get is : "device not connected" ,lol,  someone at Google messed up big time.

Hey all,

We're aware of an issue with using voice commands to change the color of some smart lights and are actively looking into it. Thanks for your patience.
