changes that make me have a designated Google

Recently had to upgarde my wifi and thus change settings on my Google Home... It requires me to pick a designated speaker which I am HATING!  what this does is play the music on that designated speaker regardless of what speaker I ask it to play on.. I can get it to play on the requested speaker but only with the other one playing as well... additionally, when I ask a request, I now get a response from all 3 speakers in my house.. I HATE this ... makes it difficult to play music in one room while someone is sleeping or working in another.... Please tell me how to fix this..

thank you

Hi there,

Thanks for trying that. Sorry that you are still experiencing the issue.  What you can do is to reset the default speaker setting. Here are the steps again.

  1. In the Google Home app home screen, tap the device’s tile they’d like to reset.
  2. Tap Settings Settings.
  3. Select Audio.
  4. Tap Default music speaker or Default TV and then select Reset.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Juni

Hello, Unfortunately that information did not help me... I am wanting to get rid of having one of the speakers in my home set as the default speaker.. what happened to just being able to get the music from the speaker you are talking to?  Now I spend so much time fighting with my GOOGLE HOME because it insists on playing music, news, etc. in other rooms rather than where I am at the time... Is there a way to just plain get rid of the default setting?

thank you!

appreciate the input but this did not resolve the issue....

thank you.
