Hiya,

There's no trigger for the nest tstat based on turning heat/cool/fan on or off.  Is it possible to write a customized trigger for google nest devices?

Thanks,

-Chris

Hi checker,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? To confirm, are you requesting for a switch button on the Nest Thermostat base that you can press to turn your system on and off?

Here are your Nest thermostat temperature modes and on how to change it.

Best,

Hi Jenelyn,

Thanks for responing.

My tstat is model Nest Thermostat-1.4 and I'm in the US.  My request was to add a home automation trigger to google home routines based on the tstat calling for heat, cool, or off.  Navigating thru the app, it would be something like this:

google home, routine, starter, when a device does something, thermostat, heat turns on/off or AC turns on/off or HVAC on/off

A good proxy would be a transition in the state of the fan (fan turns on/off).  The method I use now is based on temperature above or below manually entered set point, not such a good proxy as it's manual (not based on tstat preferred temps) and is subject to the (lack of) precision and deadzone of the tstat.

Thanks, hope it can be added!
