Hi NotAUsername,
Thanks for posting again. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. Since the issue is isolated to your account only you can try this step. Leave the home or use your wife's account on her phone, remove your account in the Google Home app then add your account again. Check the helpful link below.
Share a home and devices in the Google Home app
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Juni

Hi,
I have tried this previously, my wife was the only one in the home and then she added me back in but the same issue happened. I have also completely removed the home and re-added it with a new name but this doesn't help.
Thanks,
Richard

Hi there,
Thanks for the update. Try this. If you have another Google account try to link it to the home structure and observe if the new account will face the same issue.
Looking forward to your response.

Juni

I have created a new Google account invited to the home and it works fine. I can use voice commands for lights (the same as my wife's account).
There is an issue with my primary Google Assistant account and the devices need to be reset. Can you please go in an reset/clear all the devices on the account??

Hi NotAUsername,
Hats off to you in doing those steps to isolate your concern. About the old account on your Google Assistant, if you don't mind me asking, is it the account on your Google Assistant app or Google Home app? May I know what Nest speakers you use for your smart lights?
By the way, if you can go to this page, you can see the devices linked to your account and remove/unlink them.
Tell me how it goes.
Best,
Dan

My account that I use through Google Assistant and Google Home is the same - it is my primary full Gmail account. (I have a Google Apps Legacy account with my domain but this doesn't work with Google Home). The account that I tested and worked I have deleted now - I just set it up to prove the issue is with the Google Account and not the integration.
In summary I have a Google Mini speaker from 2018.
My Google account is linked to this speaker to run Google Assistant from my phone - I cannot control my devices (Routines work) through Google Assistant on this account (via speaker or phone). I can control the devices in the Google Home app manually pressing the buttons.
My wife is in the same home and can control the devices with no issues.
I have created a new temporary Google account, added this to my home and could control the lights.
The page you linked to shows my phone, laptop, kitchen speaker (the Google Mini) and a signed out Google Assistant enabled device that I signed out of on 13th Nov (I think this was the Kitchen Speaker before factory reset)

Hey there,
Apologies for the delayed response. I wanted to confirm that you're already able to control your smart lights using a new Google account?
Keep me posted.
Best,
Dan

Hi Dan,
I used a temporary new account and this worked but this isn't a solution it just proves that my main account needs fixing. My other services are all linked to my main account - Keep notes, Calendar, Reminders, Search history etc.
Thanks,
Richard

Hi NotAUsername,
Thank you for the valuable information. Since we’ve confirmed that this is an account concern, could you open this link and go to Google Account and check if there are authentication changes or even changes on your security? Just a heads-up, please refrain from posting any sensitive information, especially info about your account and its settings for your privacy and security.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi,
I am not sure I follow what you want me to do, that link seems to be FAQs for account issues. We have determined that my account is broken for devices but NOT for routines (using the same integration).
What exactly should I be looking for in the FAQs?
Thanks,
Richard
12-01-2022 12:19 AM
I should have also added that the SAME account can control my devices my the Home App on my android phone but those same devices do Not work via Google Assistant.
12-09-2022 08:50 PM
Hi,
Any updates on this? I am not sure what i need to look for and change on the FAQs page i was sent to.
I should also add i have a number of temperature sensors around the house also exposed via the Home Assistant integration. If i ask "Hey Google what is the Living Room Temperature" then it reads out the value of the sensor as expected. I this this further proves that there is an issue with my account whereby it does not recognise the Light and Switches that i have setup.
From experience it seems that it has got confused with all my light and switch names and is not looking in the right place for them. I need to HARD reset my Google Home account to forget all devices - removing and re-adding all integrations doesn't seem to do this. I feel like this needs an engineer/analyst/developer go in and properly fix my account.
Thanks,
Richard

Hi NotAUsername,
I apologize but I need to set your expectations. We really are not able to do anything when it involves your own personal account. We don't have the means to do so and that is to avoid any security and personal safety lapses. As you've mentioned before, creating a new account worked. Would it be okay if you integrate your devices into your new account? In the meantime, I'll have this report to our higher support to see what other steps we take.
Thanks,
Dan

Thanks Dan.
Is there a support ticket number that can be used for tracking the defect?
Thanks,
Richard

Yes very much so...I'm just lost at ALL this...😥
01-13-2023 01:38 AM
I just wanted to jump on here and say that I'm experiencing the exact same issue. I've been going through everything I could think of to try and isolate the issue, and it comes down to something broken with my account.
I can't interact with any of my linked devices by voice, but I can if I touch them via Google Home app or my Google Nest Hub Max.
This started maybe a couple of weeks ago, but I can't think of anything I may have done on my side to trigger this.
Would love if we could escalate this up to have someone look into it.
01-19-2023 05:47 PM
I'm also facing the same exact issue, it was working fine before.
01-19-2023 06:17 PM
I have connect with support team over call, tried each and everything but none of them fixed it
Tried
1. unlink/re-link the service
2. uninstall the app
3. factory rest Nest audio
4. rename the smart device
5. re-link service with different user account
6. re-create new Home assistant project
None of them fixed the issue

Hi folks,
@NotAUsername, apologies for the late reply and thank you for your patience. May I know if there are changes happening about your concern?
@@andybz, what troubleshooting steps have you done?
@jmrChawla, I'm sorry that nothing has worked when you reach out via phone call. If you don't mind me asking, after the troubleshooting, have they given you the reason why or the next steps to take? Do you have a case number so that I can check out your case?
To refresh the connection, it would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers then your 3rd party apps and devices. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. Restarting your phone might also help.
Let's keep the ball rolling.
Best,
Dan

Hi @Dan_A
I've followed @NotAUsername's threads and tried everything that's been mentioned like: unlink/relink services, reset the app, re-create my home, reset devices, etc etc. My account fails, wife's account works fine.
Primarily, I'm using the Home Assistant integration, but I see the same thing with Tuya's SmartLife integration too.
I'm using a mix of Android phones, and Google Smart devices. It really surprises me that on each of them, I can tap the device on screen to turn on/off, yet voice command will tell me that the device is unavailable, when I ask for it.
And even more surprising is that I could say "Stream the front door camera" and that will work, even though it the same integration (Home Assistant). So cameras seem to be OK, but lights, switches and covers are all failing.
I've tried to isolate the issue as much as I can from a user point of view, and it just seems to point to the fact that something about this account is broken outside of my control.
01-26-2023 04:22 PM
I'm not sure what happened, but this morning I just thought I'd try it again and to my surprise, it just started working again. Must have been about 5 or 6 weeks that it was broken, to then suddenly just start working!
The only thing I can think of is that I signed up for the Google Home Preview Program. I hadn't actually updated the app by that point though. I have a feeling it was unrelated.
Anyway, I'm relieved it's actually working again

Hi andybz,
I'm happy that everything is back on track. Thanks for giving us an update and I'll leave this thread open for a week for us to monitor this.
Best,

Hi @Dan_A unfortunately there has been no change on my end. This is still failing to work for my unless I make dummy routines.
@Mlabrador as discussed with @Dan_A further up this thread this is to remain open until higher support respond. I believe that @jmrChawla is also still seeing the issue.
01-26-2023 08:43 PM
I checked mine again, it didn't work. tried re-boot, re-link, no luck
FYI: i'm already using Google Home Preview Program
01-27-2023 04:06 PM
Well, after a day of working, it's back to not working 😭
02-20-2023 07:18 PM
I'm also experiencing this problem. My husband and I can no longer use vocal commands for our lights, nor can our routines. I've gone through what you've said to try other than creating a new Google account. Do yall have any new suggestions?
09-04-2023 02:23 PM
Seems like it's still not fixed, facing the same issue

Hi Cronner,
Thanks for reaching out. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. A few questions: what Nest speaker or display do you own? What is the make of the light that you are having issues with? When did you start experiencing it? What steps have you taken so far?
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Juni

Its on Samsung s22, pixel tablet, lenovo smart hub, google nest and only my account, if other members in the household adds smart display or speaker it can use voice to control lights
09-13-2023 01:39 PM
Hi there,
Thanks for the information you’ve shared. What message are you getting when you try to control the lights? Did you set up a voice match? When you set up Voice Match in your home, you turn it on for all devices in your home and can choose to turn it on automatically for any new devices. You can turn off Voice Match for a specific device at any time. Check out the steps below on how to do it.
Regards,
Juni

Voice match is on
only if another member add the device to home it works, my account is broken with voice commands
