nest asking for log in

I have recently changed internet provider and now my main google home device keeps asking me to log in, even though I am logged in to every google device I own. ie: android phone, numerous minis around the house and my google email. I have followed all the advice on the internet to no avail, from resetting the main device, deleting the app and re-installing it. This is my last port of call before moving to the Alexa system.

Please help

Hi rabies,

The ISP switch is definitely the issue here. Even with the same password, the speakers often get stuck clinging to the old network profile internally.

Re-installing the phone app won't help because the credentials are saved on the actual speakers, not just your phone. You need to do a physical factory reset on each Mini to force them to forget the old connection.

Here is the trick for the Minis:

1. Flip the mute switch on (so you see orange lights).

2. Press and hold the top/center for about 15 seconds. Don't let go until you hear the confirmation chime.

If they still won't connect:

Try creating a New Home in the app (Tap + > Create new home) and set them up there. Sometimes the old "Home" structure just gets buggy after a provider switch and starting fresh clears the loop.

Let me know if the reset works.

I tried all of the above but found the only thing that works is, if I remove the main device and put a mini in it's place.
