Hi marganim,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

Good question, let me help you. This screen is an indication that you need to set up your Chromecast again. Could you tell me what problem you are experiencing on your Google Home app? Also, what Chromecast model are we working with? Check the steps below on how to set up your Chromecast.

  1. Plug in your Chromecast.
  2. Download the Google Home app on your Chromecast-supported Android device.
  3. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  4. Follow the steps.
    • If you don’t find the steps to set up your Chromecast:
      1. At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add Set up device New device.
      2. Follow the remaining steps.
  5. Setup is successful. You're all done!

Check this link for more information.

Hey there,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you, were there any recent changes or updates to your network or set up? Give these additional steps a try:

  • Check the Wi-Fi settings of the phone and connect directly to the Chromecast's temporary hotspot, Chromecast XXXX, or manually look for the previous name that has been used for the Chromecast device like Living Room TV or Bedroom TV, and then proceed with the normal setup.
  • Reboot your Chromecast and router to refresh the connection.
  • Reinstall your Google Home app.
  • Factory reset the Chromecast.
  • If the issue persists, try using a different mobile phone to see if you'll get the same result.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Alex
