I would like to show my Nest Hello on my Google Home Mini Display whenever people are seen ?

Can I set & use a notification (of people seen in Nest Hello) to tell Google to show my doorbell on my MINI Display ?

Most delivery folks don't even ring the doorbell and I like to know if someone is lurking outside :).  That said I'd like this to all happen without any sounds. The current set up makes an anouuncement when someone rings the bell and that is fine, but I would like this other automation to work independantly from that.

Thanks, Ron

@RC519

Google Nest does not provide a way for motion alerts to show up on our Nest Hubs; only "Visitor announcements" triggered by a doorbell press do this.

I know, this is why I hoped the new "automation" could do it by using person by notification to instruct display to stream the doorbell.

@RC519

I haven't tried the automation tool.

Does anyone see a path fwd possibly using automation to get Google Nest Hello notification (person seen) to "trigger" streaming that doorbell ?    Thanks

Hello everybody,

@RC519, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand that you wanted to trigger your Nest Doorbell to view what it saw or detected automatically to your Nest Hub; however, we don't have any news to share about applying this feature. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. Let us know if you have more questions in mind.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson

Yes, thank you. I'd like to get my display to show the doorbell camera when it sees a person. Similar to the way it now operates when someone rings the bell. I'd like to keep that also. If automate could see the "person seen notification" as the trigger for action "show me the doorbell" that would be great.

Hi RC519,

Thanks for getting back to us. We understand that the feature you're referring to is not available. I'd suggest you send feedback using this link to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this after 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Best,

Emerson

I was hoping to or some discussion about how I might be able to use the "person seen" notification to "show the doorbell". Both are Google, why would it NOT be possible given the hype about the new "automation" ?
Can anyone talk to WHY these two cannot be coordinated ? It seems the community is only interested in closing the thread, I honestly thought there might be a discussion as to technically WHY the "automation" I am seeking is not possible. Thanks, Ron

I recognize this is not a feature currently offered. Precisely why I thought the "automation" would allow people (who know how to use it) would be able to set their own "triggering event" and resulting action. You said you haven't tried it yet .. end of discussion ?

Google's new automation between two Google devices and its a non-starter .. wow.
