Issue with Hulu on Nest Hub

I can’t get Hulu to play on my nest hub. I’ve already restarted the nest hub three separate times, deleted the device from the home app on my phone, linked and unlinked and linked Hulu several times on the video settings on the app, and deleted and redownloaded to Google home app on my phone. It says linked on the app but it doesn’t show up on the nest hub and when asked to open Hulu it says it doesn’t know where to play the video or gives me instructions on how to link it on the app. Please help.

Hi @Uservaleria,

It's frustrating when tech doesn't cooperate! You've already tried many standard troubleshooting steps, which is commendable. To provide more specific guidance, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  1. Nest Hub Model: Which Nest Hub model do you have (Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max)?
  2. Other Apps: Are you able to play other video streaming apps (like YouTube, Netflix) on your Nest Hub?
  3. Error Messages: Is there any specific error message you see when trying to open Hulu?
  4. Recent Changes: Have you made any recent changes to your home network, Hulu account, or Nest Hub settings?

By answering these questions, we can narrow down the potential causes of the issue and find a solution.

Please feel free to share any additional details that might be helpful.

Best regards,

Josh

Hi, to answer your questions:

1. The model is Nest hub 2nd gen

2. I can play Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music

3. When I ask to play Hulu it says it doesn’t know where to play it and it gives me instructions on how to open display in settings and how to link videos to nest hub (but when I open the app and settings it shows Hulu is already linked)

4. There has been no recent network changes in my home. The nest hub is brand new and I had just finished setting it up for the first time when I noticed Hulu was not working.

Hi @Uservaleria,

Thanks for providing those details. It seems we're dealing with a specific issue with Hulu and your Nest Hub 2nd gen.

To isolate the problem further, let's try a few more steps:

  1. Check Hulu Account Status: Ensure your Hulu account is active and in good standing. Try accessing Hulu on a different device to verify this.
  2. Force Stop and Clear Hulu App Cache:
    • Open the Google Home app.
    • Go to the device settings of your Nest Hub.
    • Find the Hulu app and force stop it.
    • Clear the app cache.
  3. Re-link Hulu: Let's try re-linking Hulu one more time, even though it shows as linked. Sometimes, this can refresh the connection.
  4. Check for Nest Hub Updates: Make sure your Nest Hub is running the latest software version. Check for updates in the Google Home app.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, we might need to explore more in-depth troubleshooting. Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps.

Best regards,

Josh

Hello,

Hulu was working fine on two other devices.
After a while of looking at the settings to clear cache I decided to restart the nest hub, delete device on the app and completely restart the set up and I connected all the apps I use and it ended up finally working. Now Hulu and other streaming apps I use work well.
Thank you for all the responses and help you’ve given me.
