Nest camera 2nd gen wired

My nest camera stopped working as of Dec 9, 2024 around midnight I’ve already tried unplugging & plugging it back in but there is no green light or any light at all. It’s offline, tried connecting it to another outlet & still did not turn on, no green light or any light turns on. I also made sure where to check the outlet it was originally plugged in was working which it was ( put my phone to charge & it was working) it’s just my camera that does not turn on. I removed it from my google home & tried re adding it but it does not turn on at all so I’m not able to. I bought it last year in November 2023 so it’s only about a year old & I didn’t use it as soon as I got it so it’s fairly new. please help thank you

Forgot to mention it’s a nest second gen wired camera.

@yessi28

I don't know why your camera would suddenly start working.

It may not help, but you could try performing a "factory reset"; use the "factory reset" instructions rather than the "restart" instructions in the Help topic below, and then try reinstalling your camera in the Google Home app.

If your camera is less than a year old, you could try contacting Support for a replacement:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

I was able to locate & press the button for 10 seconds to see if it restarts or any light turns on & nothing turned on or happened. I will try reaching out to see if I can talk to someone of their team, thank you for your help.

@yessi28

It takes at least 12 seconds according to their instructions, and I've seen many posts from customers reporting it took longer than that.

"Insert a paperclip, thumbtack or similar into the hole. Press and hold down.

At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.

At 12 seconds, the status light will be solid yellow. When the camera begins resetting, you’ll hear a confirmation tone."

Maybe Support can help.
