No connection nest cam battery

Fara74
Community Member

Hi, my nest cam battery outdoor doesn't connect. I don't have live feed. I already got another camera and a doorbell, both battery. No problem with both of them. The camera does connect, and after a minute it goes offline.

  • I already checked my Wi-Fi (other camera and doorbell works) and my router. I did reset it. I did charge it full again, set my wifi at 2,4 herz. It connects, and 5 minute later the problem starts again

What can I do more?

Hi Fara74,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.

A few questions: has your Nest Camera ever been connected to your Wi-Fi network before? Has there been any recent change in the home Wi-Fi network? Also, is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) of between three and fifty feet from your Nest Camera?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe

10 meters, no change in wifi. And the battery dropped from 100% tot 4 % suddenly today ( charged 4 days ago)

Hello Fara74,

Thanks for getting back to us. Let’s try the troubleshooting steps below.

  1. Save any video history from the device, if any. Follow this guide.
  2. Unmount the device, then connect it to the USB cable and power adapter, if applicable.
  3. Locate the reset pinhole on the device.
  4. Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paper clip or a thumbtack):
    1. At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
    2. At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the device starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  5. Release the button. Your device will restore to its factory settings.
  6. After the factory reset, your device will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it. Also, the status light should be slowly pulsing blue.
  7. To remove it from the app, open the Google Home app, select the device then tap Settings > Remove device > Confirm.
  8. Start adding the device back to the Google Home app, follow the instructions to update the Wi-Fi connection.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Lance
