Re: Nest Aware Home/Away stopped working

Seems like we may be going through similar issues. Always glad to see we’re not alone. After having gone through the knowledge base articles and tried numerous steps, like resetting my password, creating a new Google account to link to the original Nest account, I went to Google Gemini for help. Funny thing is that Gemini suggested creating a new Google account, using the SAME email address as the existing Nest Aware account. Unfortunately, that din’t work either. However, then it (Gemini) kindly allowed to open a chat session with Nest support agents. 90 minutes, and 3 agents later still no solution. It does seem to be directly linked to the upcoming cancellation of the first generation Nest Aware Service. They have asked for 48hrs to come up with a solution, but it seems clear that the recent backoffice change end of March is causing all the issues, and that migration to a Google account seems to be defunct. Gemini also suggested I come to the community website (see full text below) So, if something else happens, I will post here. Good luck!

To further assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • What specific situation are you experiencing with Home and Away?

  • When did the situation start?

  • What type of Nest devices do you have that are experiencing troubles with Home and Away?

  • Do you have the case ID of your previous interactions with the Google support team?
