Hello,
I am trying to enable the sound detection features for 2 speakers inside my home, but when I get to the page where I select which sounds I would like to detect, the Next button always remains greyed out (see screenshot). I've rebooted multiple times, cleared the app cache, tried every combination of sound types, and ensured the app is up to date. Any thoughts on why this feature remains unavailable to me? Thank you

@teroot thanks for that info.
Do you have sound detection set up in Nest Aware? Are the correct devices (Mini) selected?
Open the Google Home app
Tap Settings Subscriptions Nest Aware.
Select Sound detection.
Under “Sounds,” turn Smoke alarms, Carbon monoxide alarms, and Glass breaking on or off to set the sounds you want your device to detect.

@JillGI can't even get to the point where I can select devices - please see my screenshot in the link in my original post. While in the Home app under the Nest Aware Subscription settings, I select Sound Detection and then turn on Smoke Alarms, Carbon Monoxide Alarms, and Glass Breaking. That is the point where I cannot get past because the Next button at the bottom remains greyed out. The next screen that I can't get to should have been where I select which device(s) I want to enable sound detection on

The only thing that might be preventing those from being selected is if you still have the 1st gen subscription. I see you said you are pretty certain you have upgraded but can you double check that you have the latest Nest Aware subscription and not the older version?
I can also get a Nest Community Specialist to help as well. Just double check the subscription.
Thanks!

I can confirm I have the latest Nest Aware subscription. I just purchased the subscription last month, and if that link is accurate, the 1st gen subscriptions were no longer available after July 2023. My account says it is the Nest Aware subscription with 30 day event history for $80 annually.

Glad you checked. I'll escalate this over to our community specialist. They may know if there are any current issues---

Hi, I am also running into this same issue. I just recently installed a Nest doorbell. When I go set up sound detection I'm nest aware settings, the next button remains greyed out on the "What sounds do you want to detect?" page.

@Nathbrowoddly enough the sound detection on my doorbell in the Nest app does work for me, but I'm glad to know it may not be just me if someone else is having a similar problem. I'll let you know if I get this resolved and maybe it'll help you as well

For what it's worth to anyone in the future who comes across this thread - after a month of troubleshooting with Google support team, we were unable to fully resolve my issue. I was able to successfully set up sound detection in the Google Home app, though no reason was ever found as to why that wasn't selectable to begin with. However, even after enabling the sound detection, none of the 3 speakers in my house (Google Home, Home Mini, Nest Speaker) are notifying me when a smoke alarm is active. After a month of back and forth, the support team has exhausted all potential solutions, and offered me a small credit to the Google store for replacement if I wanted to choose that route. @Nathbrow
