There was a problem while connecting to the Nest service. Try again in a few minutes

Have been getting the above error message on and off for years. I’ve never been able to ever get the nest app to work reliably.. always crashing when trying to view cameras, check thermostats etc. Has been a similar problem with different phones, versions of the app etc so must be something up with my account?
