Traveling and my cameras are offline

Taracat
Community Member

I am traveling out of state for a week and just realized my cameras are offline. What's the point of having them if  I can't use them from another location or state?

How can I get then to work when not even close to home?

Hello Taracat,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I know that you wanted to control it remotely while you're away. To know more about this, I'd like to confirm if you're getting any error messages? How far is your Nest Camera from your Wi-Fi router? Were there any recent power outages in your area?

  • Give these steps a try:
If you could have someone to go there and try to restart your Nest Camera and your Wi-Fi router.
Check if it has power and its light status.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Emerson

Hi Taracat,

How's it going with your Nest Camera? We would appreciate it if you could share with us the information I’m asking above. Also, were you able to perform the steps I’m suggesting? We'd be glad to hear from you — We'd like to make sure everything is working.

Hey Taracat,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let us know.

Thanks,
Emerson
