HI there,
Do you dispose of the Nest Protect devices after a fire?
Unfortunately I had a house fire last year, not too bad and everyone is ok. I disposed/recycled them after reading (can't find where now) that they could not be used after positively detecting smoke...Was that true?
I am looking install new alarms , but these systems are so expensive vs others. Do they also work like the ring where they can relay an alarm elsewhere? Or are there whole home bundles, i need like 6-7 😞
Thank you for your advice

Hi Sarjun,
Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the fire you experienced last year, but I'm glad to hear that everyone is okay. Regarding your questions about Nest Protect devices, if a Nest Protect device positively detects smoke or fire, it is generally recommended to replace it. The sensors inside the device may have been exposed to heat, smoke, or other damaging factors during the fire, which can affect their performance and reliability. It's best to err on the side of caution and replace the devices after a fire to ensure optimal safety. Read more here in when to replace your Nest Protect article.
Best,
Zoe
