2 Nest thermostats, AC only appears on one

JohnnyV109

Hi there,

I just bought a home that had two nest thermostats already installed (one kitchen, one upstairs). I live in Canada and have forced air natural gas furnace for heat, and a separate electric air conditioner.

I stupidly did a factory reset on the kitchen nest. It does not show any equipment for cooling (AC), but it is able to heat.  I'm not sure if the AC was detected before I did the factory reset.

The other Nest (upstairs) capably runs the air conditioner and shows all equipment properly installed.

Is adding the cooling to the kitchen nest possible? It doesn't appear to be detected on the y wire, so not sure if it ever was or if something has gone wrong.  They are both now connected to Wi-Fi and unfortunately the upstairs nest didn't teach the kitchen nest!

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

John

Hello JohnnyV109,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. Could you please reseat the Y wire and make sure that the wire is straight and properly seated?

Regards,

Jennifer
