2 stage gas furnace, but only W1 wired

I just got a Trane S9X2 installed (2 stage heat), and the techs who connected it to my Nest (3rd gen) only wired up W1 - there is nothing on W2.  I noticed that when the furnace comes on, it displays "Ht2" which is the "high" setting.  It never uses "Ht1".  Should I have the techs come back and wire in W2 as well as W1?  I'd hate to pay for a 2 stage furnace and only use 1 stage!  Thanks!!!
