4th generation thermostat

I got my 4th generation thermostat set up in the Home app. When I try to add it to my nest app, I can't add it because there is no 4th generation listed. I tried adding it as a 3rd generation, but it would not add it. Anyone know how to add it to the Nest app? I can control it through Home app, but I prefer Nest.

Neither the Google Nest Thermostat nor the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) is compatible with the Nest App. They only work with the Google Home App

I currently have two 2nd gen Nest thermostats and one 3rd gen Nest thermostat in 2 different locations, all controlled via Nest app.  I am planning to replace the two 2nd gen thermostats with 4th gen Nest thermostats and understand that I will have to switch to Google Home app to control them.  Can I also control 3rd gen thermostat with Google Home app and manage two different locations through this app as well?

That’s a common issue since 4th gen thermostats are designed to work mainly with the Home app. Sadly, they can’t be added to the Nest app anymore. Hopefully Google merges the two apps soon kind of like how a smooth Reddy Anna Login keeps everything in one place without extra hassle.
