A/C turns on and off continuously, E195, 'Delayed' message

I have a Nest Thermostat E which was installed in Mar 2018 and I have not had any major problems with it up to now.

My A/C is turning on and off every minute or so.  This means the temperature stays above 80.  The sequence is approximately:

- A/C comes on

- Nest app on phone shows “Error Power Out: E195 No power to R wire”

- A/C runs for a minute or two then goes off

- Yellow light on thermostat comes on then goes out

- Thermostat shows “starting in 0:58”, this counts down by seconds to 0:00

- Nest App Shows 76 - Delayed

- At 0:00 A/C comes back on and the cycle repeats

???

Thanks

Geoff

Hi, I got the unit serviced.  The drainage from the condenser was slow, and there was a sensor that detected when it was full and would shut off the A/C.  So the A/C would start, water would start coming off the coils, the reservoir would fill, the sensor would trip and the A/C would shut off.  Then the reservoir would slowly drain, the sensor would clear, the A/C would come back on, and the cycle would repeat.

Hello…I’m facing same issue and mine was installed September 2018. Sorry I cannot offer a solution.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for being here in the Google Nest Community.

@gbradfor, this behavior on your HVAC system can be triggered by your Nest Thermostat not getting enough power from it. Do you have a C (common wire) connected to your thermostat?

@Swimdiva, what are the steps you've tried so far to troubleshoot this issue?

Regards,

Ryan
