I just installed the 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat today and this evening when I try to cool the house, the system keeps cycling off and on. Someone please help!

I'm having the same issue with my gas ducted heating only system.
Out of curiosity, can you send over a picture of your equipment wires on the nest to see which wires you have connected.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this.

This is most likely either a power-related issue or an incorrect wiring configuration. Could you please share with us a photo of your old thermostat and the Nest Thermostat's wiring? Also, gather the power readouts in the Technical Info settings or in the Equipment settings.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark

Same issue here.... I believe my issue stemmed from a recent thunderstorm... but my system has been working great with my setup until yesterday. No clue how to go about repair.

I had the same issue. Turns out although the battery didn't show weak, I recharged it for a couple of hours and it solved the problem. Maybe yours wasn't fully charged when you installed it?

Hello there,

@tl6868, thanks for posting and sharing with us what you've done to have it resolved. If anything comes up, feel free to create a new thread so we can better assist you.

@RsNest, I appreciate you reaching out to us. To isolate, are you having the same issue when your AC is short-cycling? Were there any recent power outages? Also, try pressing and holding your thermostat's screen until it shuts down to refresh. Then, activate your system and see if there are any changes.

Regards,
Mark

I just installed my 3rd. Gen. Nest and right away the air started cycling every few seconds.   I have attached my wiring configuration.

Hi Sheril,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.

Please help us with the power readings of your actual Nest Learning Thermostat in Settings > Technical Info > Power (Battery, VOC, VIN, and lIN). Also, a clogged filter might cause a similar symptom. If the air filter is dirty and needs to be changed, replace the filter and let us know if the same situation continues after you change the filter. Refer to this article for more details.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
