Nest account won’t migrate since Google took over

I'm not sure what you mean.  Migrating a Nest Account to a Google Account only became possible several years after Google acquired Nest in 2014.  I think they started urging customers to migrate about 4 years ago; we migrated about 3 years ago.

@Timforsythe, thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Have yo tried these following steps? 

1. On your mobile device, download the latest version of the Nest app from Google Play.
2. Check that you have an eligible Google Account.
   • If you don’t have one, you will need to create a new Google Account.
3. Open the Nest appand, if asked, sign in.
4. Tap SettingsAccountverify that you’re signed in with the account you want to migrate.
   • To migrate a different Nest Account, tap Sign out at the bottom of the screensign in with the account you want to migrate.
5. Tap Migrate to a Google Account.
6. Follow the in-app instructions.
